President Muhammadu Buhari has flagged off oil drilling in Gombe state has revealed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
According to a post made on the social media page of the corporation, spud-in is the beginning of the drilling of an oil well by a rig targeting a prospective reservoir and that is what the President has just done in the state.
They wrote:
“BREAKING: History is made as President @MBuhari just performed the Presidential Flag-off of the Spud-in of the Kolmani River Well-II at the Gongola Basin, Upper Benue Trough.
In simple terms, Spud-in is the beginning of the drilling of an oil well by a rig targeting a prospective reservoir.
Also in attendance are Govs Mohammed A. Abubakar & Ibrahim H. Dankwambo of Bauchi & Gombe States respectively. There are 6 wells in the Kolmani Area, located within the two states. One of the wells, Kolmani River Well-II will be spud-in by Pres @MBuhari today”
