President Muhammadu Buhari did not order for the Madagascar COVID-19 drug. This is according to presidential aide Tolu Ogunlesi.
Tolu Ogunlesiade this known just days after the Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie, revealed that the Madagascar COVID-19 drug will be subjected to analysis upon arriving Nigeria before approval will be given for its usage.
Correcting some wrong motions published about Nigeria’s interest in the drug, Tolu Ogunlesi stated that the drug was not order but an allocation is just being picked up Nigeria.
“Worth saying again: Nigeria did not “order” the alleged Covid-19 cure from Madagascar. We got an allocation. Many other African countries did.
“We are simply picking up our allocation. And it will be subjected to standard NAFDAC procedures. No validation no use. It’s that simple,” he tweeted.
