Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Nigerian lawmaker, and current Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, has backed out from the ongoing investigation of the commission.
The chairman stepped down on Monday as the panel was beginning the continuation of the public hearing on the activities of the commission.
According to the reports, the chairman was also accused of ”crime” against the commission and was requested not to preside over the probe. The panel was set up to interrogate Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Daniel Pondei, today.
Recall , that Pondei had earlier on Thursday criticized the credibility of the House Committee, saying lawmaker, Tunji-Ojo was corrupt and had benefited from award of contracts in the commission.
