Our fab couple of the week – Yemi and Mayowa – share a deep love for each
other and for God.
Their wedding day was fun-filled from the beginning to the end with
well choreographed dance moves, anointed men of God and most importantly, an
out pour of undiluted love clearly seen from the couple and their family and
friends.
Literally, there was not a shortage of entertainment; It was a complete
event!
Their love story:
Yemi: On one faithful day at my sister’s wedding reception in
December, I went outside to drop something into the kitchen. So as I was
going I met this inquisitive young man on the way and he stopped to introduce
himself and he asked if I knew the bride. I told him how I was related to the bride
and he told me my turn is next. What did you say! Immediately I responded,
“ No, no…. I still have my life to live” and we went our separate ways.
I
didn’t think about him during the whole celebration and afterwards.
attending the same college? Not only attending the same college but
“divinely” enrolled in the same class as I was in spring. Most
often times, I acted like I didn’t see him, but this fateful day; as I was
heading to the class he came in front of me again to say hello with the
charming smile of his, and asked me where he had seen me before. “Can you
imagine?” I had forgotten his name so I had to check our class roster for his
name, from there on he got my number to be study partners and so on and forth…and
it led us here!!
apple of my eye was at her sister’s wedding (it was a merely and innocuous
meet). I quickly went in and sat down. We later met in school and I soon
realized that I yearned her presence and always wanted to be around her.
programs, concerts, school club meetings and tried skillful measures to gain
her attention. I tried to get creative each time such as buying muffins to
class to woo her. I even offered to be her study-buddy, go to movies,
listen to music, and a play a little Table-tennis (Ping-pong). I love her
personality, her caring, and competitive spirit.
Proposal Story:
Yemi: Mayowa proposed twice!!! The latter time was in a
beautiful and romantic restaurant in Galveston. I knew he was up to something
because he was so fidgety and nervous. Before we ate, he said some beautiful
things to me and his future plans with me in it and then afterwards he got down
on one knee and literally yelled, “Will you marry me?” I couldn’t resist but
say, “YES!!” Mayowa is a dream come true for me, he is just naturally
caring, so irresistible..he is the beautiful person that God has orchestrated
in my life!!!
proposed at a restaurant in Galveston. Yes, I was nervous but it was
glorifying. Today, I’m so happy and highly favored to have found someone
I could and would love, as Christ wants me to.
