Friends and family members of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Wednesday spranged up a surprised birthday anniversary dinner for him as he clocked 54.
The shocked Governor Fintiri could not hide his joy as he appreciated his friends for the surprise, describing it as a development that will spur him to do more for the people of Adamawa.
He said the recognition means a lot to him and will not take their show of love for granted.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Governor Oluseyi Makinde of Oyo and former Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki amongst others who gave goodwill messages praised the courage, wisdom and humility of Governor Fintiri, describing him as a dogged politician making a difference in governance.
While praying for long life and more useful years ahead, the Waziri Adamawa Atiku Abubakar commended his revolution in Adamawa, adding that no Governor has developed infrastructure in the State like Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri
He noted especially his rural and urban renewal programme that has opened up rural areas and restored the true meaning of land of beauty to the State.
Shehu Jafiya who spoke on behalf of the committee of friends said they were happy associating with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri that has not failed them.
Jafiya noted that they decided to celebrate their friend as a mark of appreciation for his exemplary leadership qualities and humanness.
The Long list of personalities at the event include the Acting National Chairman of PDP Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, Deputy Governor of Adamawa State Chief Crowther Seth, Speaker of the State Assembly Iya Abass serving and passed National Assembly Members.
