'You guys have made my dream come true' DJ Switch pens appreciation note to youths

Nigerian disc jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh, better known as DJ Switch has penned an appreciation note to the Nigerian youth for changing the narrative in politics.

Recall that DJ Switch who has been in exile gained international recognition after she live-streamed the Nigerian Army personnel shooting protesters at the Lekki tollgate during the nationwide EndSARS protest on 20th October 2020.

Reacting to how the youths have changed the narrative to some extent in Nigeria politics, DJ Switch who disclosed that she has always believed that change will come to Nigeria said the change needed is still a long way to go but her faith is renewed.

In a heartbreaking quote, DJ Switch stated that she won’t see the change coming, however, she is most grateful that the youths made her dreams come true.

She tweeted: “I want to say thank you to our vibrant youths. I’ve always believed change will come to Nigeria but I would always end that statement with, “I know I won’t see it.” But you guys have made my dream come true… I know it’s still a long way to go but my faith is renewed. Thank you!”

In another tweet, DJ Switch joked about the campaign strategies of the Lagos State’s incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu seeking re-election.

The governor has employed a series of outdoor campaigns from visiting churches, hairdressing saloon, to showing his skills at the mechanic work in order to cajole the citizens of Lagos to vote him in again on 11th March

In her tweet, DJ Switch wrote: “I hear say Sanwo Olu don turn usher for church Miracle no dey taya who???”

    Kemi Olunloyo bullies DJ Switch

Kemi Filani reported that controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo bullied DJ Switch sometime last year after she claimed that the End SARS shooting video was doctored.

In a post on her Facebook page on 2nd December, Kemi Olunloyo said DJ Switch is not a Hero while urging the mother of one to emulate international media outlets and apologize to Nigerians for her allegedly ‘misleading’ reportage.
Olunloyo, however, disclosed that she watched in another video how a female NTA reporter and her cameraman were caught in the crossfire about the time the army arrived.

According to her, she could not confirm from her investigation if the NTA staff were from Lagos or Abuja but that they were there that night to cover the nightly activities and were trapped at the scene.
Olunloyo wrote: “DJ Switch has misled the world because of her LIVE video where she was acting like a hero. SHE WAS NOT ONE. This may be why the Buhari government may be bragging that they will “disgrace and expose her soon” Unfortunately there was ANOTHER VIDEO I watched last November 2020 during my #IJLekkimassacre investigation. A female NTA Reporter and her cameraman caught in the crossfire about the time the army arrived 6:30pm October 20th 2020.”
Adding, “His camera was videotaping DJ Switch and a lot of other things while they were ducking away from bullets. They had no idea what they captured. NTA is owned by the government. I didn’t know if the state sponsored network staff were from Lagos or Abuja but they were there that night to cover the nightly activities and were trapped at the scene. DJ Switch should apologize to Nigerians and the world like CNN, EIE and Amnesty Nigeria for their “massacre numbers” and propaganda.”
