Media personality, Shade Ladipo has joined Nigerians to slam Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy over this nonchalant attitude towards the 2023 general election.
Kemi Filani reported that Burna Boy broke his silence concerning election matters after his fans slammed him for being mute. He took to his Instagram story to urge Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to be transparent and also emphasize that the electoral body allows Nigerians to choose their preferred presidential candidate without any external influence freely.
However, Nigerians who were not satisfied with his method of concern hurled insults at him. Responding to them, Burna Boy who had asked his fans earlier this year who they would vote for said he does not understand why people want him to be vocal about the elections.
The ‘Last Last’ singer further noted that personally, he does not have a preferred candidate he believes in.
Shade Ladipo slams Burna Boy
Lending her voice about the attitude of Burna Boy into a matter of national concern, Shade Ladipo said the singer needs to understand the importance of the Nigerian election if he is a true pan-Africanist.
Ladipo went on to tag Burna Boy a are a clown and an opportunist who only uses Nigerian/African issues to promote his music. She noted that without canvassing for any political candidate, he could have admonished Nigerians to vote.
Without leaving any stone unturned, Ladipo said the self-acclaimed African giant is an African and who is a clown. She also tagged him as a fraud with fake dreads.
She wrote: “Your African ant is a clown. If you are a true pan-Africanist as you claim with your music then you must understand the importance of these elections. Promoting voter participation doesn’t involve supporting any candidate. You are a clown and an opportunist who only uses Nigeria/African issues to promote your music. F*cking fraud with fake dreads”.
