Yeni Kuti, the sister of Nigerian singer Seun, has explained why his brother angrily walked out of her 60th birthday celebration venue.
Kemifilani had earlier reported that Seun Kuti, the youngest son of famous afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti stirred reactions on social media after walking out on the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during his sister’s birthday.
A video that surfaced online captured Seun Kuti angrily leaving the birthday party while Governor Sanwo-Olu gave his speech.
Reacting to the video, which is currently making the rounds on social media, many Nigerians pointed out that Seun Kuti is like his father Fela who is always against the dubious activities of the government.
Responding to some of the criticisms the video had generated, Yeni Kuti, in a post shared on the microblogging platforms, said the security personnel pushed Seun’s wife in the course of their duty.
This made his brother upset at the security and not Governor Sanwo-Olu. She added that Seun would not walk out on the Governor as he has home training.
She wrote:
What happened was that the security detail in the course of doing their duty pushed his wife. He got upset at them understandably so, not the Governor. He even explained to the Governor. I beg O! He has home training.
