Today marks another celebration on World Wizkid Day which takes place on the 6th of October across the world on social media platforms, Twitter especially.
World Wizkid day is set aside to celebrate the achievements of the Ojuelegba young star who has grown to become one of the biggest talents from Nigeria and Africa to the rest of the world.
Wizkid has grown so big that a former United States governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, had declared October 6 as Wizkid Day in 2018, citing several historic feats achieved by the artiste across the World.
The Star Boy, who won the hearts of many Nigerian with his song Holla At Your Boy in 2011 has dropped numerous hits since then.
The year 2021 has been all about the international scene for Wizkid, with his song Essense featuring Tems being declared as the song of the summer.
Wizkid earned some bragging rights this year after some of the world biggest stars stormed his concern as they stood in the crowd to listen to the Nigerian music star sing.
In October 2021, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys attended a Wizkid concert at Los Angeles’ Novo Theater.
The likes of Kevin Hart, Wiz Khalia and Ben Simmons had earlier attended Wizkid’s concert at Wilten Theatre in Los Angeles.
Wizzy, as he is also called, sold out the O2 Arena twice in 2021; the first he sold out within 12 minutes, joining the likes of Beyonce, Alicia Keys, among others who had earlier achieved a similar feat.
Wizkid has paid his dues beyond the Nigerian entertainment industry to be celebrated across the world.
