Wizkid beats Davido, Burna Boy to having the highest number of BET Awards in Africa
Popular Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid is being celebrated by Nigerians on social media for being the only artist in Africa to win a BET Award three times, beating Davido and Burna Boy.
This is coming after Beyonce’s “Brown Skin girl” clinched the “HER” award.
The BET Awards 2020 edition held on Sunday via virtual media across the world due to COVID-19 was hosted by Amanda Seales had to do with Nigerian artistes winning big.
One of such musicians’ is Wizkd who went home with the BET HER Awards for Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl” ft him, Blue Ivy Carter and Saint Jhn.
The award would it make it Wizkid’s third BET achievement, taking him to a pedestal of being the first and only African artiste to win three BET awards.
Kemi Filani News recalls that the “Ojuelegba” singer won the BET Best International Act: Africa award in 2012 and 2017.
Nigerians have taken to social media to congratulate the starboy while joining him to celebrate the feat.
