Nigerian celebrities have started airing their opinion on the arrest of Dubai based big boy, Mompha, who was picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
First to air an opinion is actress Nkechi Blessing who showed him support while many of his celebrity friends went mute.
Nkechi Blessing shared a picture of Mompha on Instagram which she captioned: “Dis too shall pass, Be strong pops”.
Another supporter of his, Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky, wished him well.
He wrote:
“I still find it to believe wat I read about you. I still spoke to you few days ago @mompha but it’s fine. Dis shall pass soon. May God see you through dis tough time because you have an amazing heart”
Hip TV boss, Ayo Shonaiya who shared on social media, didn’t seem to support Mompha. He, however, had harsh words for EFCC and the way they paraded him.
According to Ayo Shonaiya, the parading was a stupid move by EFCC because it will lead to a media trial.
Ayo Shonaiya said: ‘this is exactly how the EFCC will mess up the case. I don’t understand this nonsense media fixation of parading suspects before trial’.
”What exactly is the point of this? Instead of them to take his mugshot and prepare a secured case based on strong evidence, they proceed on a stupid circus for the media that can even taint their case when it does get to Court. Just like the Nigeria Police did with Evans the Kidnapper, they turned the case into a media circus that has turned him into some sort of folk hero for people who don’t know the difference between real life and social media gist. This is a stupid move by the EFCC”.
The first celebrity to blatantly mock Mompha is actress Nnaji Charity whom he shared for sliding into his DM to beg for help.
Taking her pound of flesh, she shared:
