Noywood actor Uzor Arukwe has humorously responded to overzealous netizens who believed that his Igbo accent was exaggerated in the movie A Tribe Called Judah.
Taken to his Twitter, he humorously apologized to people who believed that his Igbo accent was exaggerated in the movie A Tribe Called Judah.
He specifically responded to a particular netizen known as Pidgin Girl who pointed out that his Igbotic accent was just too much and very off-putting.
She also disclosed that she was an Igbo girl and she knows that her brothers did not sound that way. Responding to her, Uzor Arukwe told her not to be angry and also apologized, stating that he did not mean to overdo it.
“I aporogize, I didn’t mean to overdo it. Nwanne biko don’t be angly.”
However, the Igbotic pronunciation he used in writing out the words got a lot of his netizens and core fans cackling. Now, also recall that back in 2022, Uzor ARukwe had talked about his rise to fame. He expressed that when he had first started acting in Nollywood that he had been paid as low as 1000 Naira for a role.
He also revealed that he had faced a lot of undermining and people not believing that he was talented while he was in the early stages of his career. He disclosed how he had had to quit a 10-year job in a corporate world just to fully pursue an acting career, even when he did not know if he would ever make it. However, he expressed gratitude for the stage that he was currently in.
