Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has called out organisers of African Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA for snubbing Jim Iyke’s movie, Bad Comment from the award.
Taking to his Instagram page to vent out, Uche avowed that AMVCA doesn’t represent the true nature of best movies in Nigeria.
He questioned how the award body can be giving out awards and Bad Comment isn’t among any category.
Uche Maduagwu vowed not to attend the event as he doesn’t think they are representing Nigerians.
The controversial actor added that the movie is the biggest in 2021.
“AMVCA doesn’t represent the true nature of our movie in Nigeria. How can you say you are giving award yo people and Bad Comment isn’t in the category.
I wouldn’t attend the event because I don’t think you people will represent us.
Bad Comment is the biggest movie in 2021 and there is no single nomination”.
“Not again, #SouthAfricans can not tell us how to run out industry, enough is enough, a lot of prominent #movieproducers and actors have complained bitterly about #AMVCA selection process when it comes to nominations, our #movies no be #bbnaija housemates that you control inside #bbn how can a movie like bad comments that was unarguably the biggest 2021 #cinema film, that made over 200 million naira have no single nomination? Is AMVCA truly Naija viewers choice #award or organizers preferred award?”.
Bad Comment isn’t the only movie that got skipped from the award show.
Kemi Filani news recalls, Toyin Abraham was also ignored by the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards despite being crowned the highest grossing actress in Nigeria.
This is a surprise to many as Toyin Abraham fondly called World Best, grossed the highest movie in Nigeria.
Last year 2021, Toyin Abraham produced her movie, The Ghost and The Tout Too which did so well at the box movie.
It’s unfortunate that the movie didn’t make it to this year’s AMVCA edition.
