Media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has expressed disappointment at singer, Banky W’s Eti-Osa Federal constituency seat loss to Attah.
Kemi Filani reported that Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W’s had been defeated by Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Attah as the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
According to Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, who is INEC Returning Officer, Attah pulled a total of 24,075 votes to defeat his rival, Banky W of the People Democratic Party (PDP) who gathered 18,666 votes, and Mr Babajide Obanikoro of APC, who had 16,901 votes.
Reacting to it via her Twitter page, Toke Makinwa expressed disappointment at his loss.
Describing the news as painful, she noted how Banky deserved to win because of his hardwork.
Toke Makinwa pointed out how Thaddeus Attah didn’t campaign during the election, yet won the seat.
In a since deleted tweet, Toke Makinwa tweeted, “The news of LP winning in Eti-Osa House of Representatives is so painful cos he didn’t campaign, we don’t even know him.
Banky worked s hard, Banky deserved to win Eti-Osa”.
Why I chose PDP – Banky W reveals after winning re-run election
In other news, Kemi Filani reported that Banky W had revealed why he chose to run his political race with the People’s Democratice Party (PDP).
Banky W, won the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary election re-run in Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, Lagos with 24 votes against his challenger Sam Aiboni, who scored only five votes.
The rerun took place on Monday, June 6 after the first primary last month was cancelled.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Banky W opened up on why he chose the PDP.
Describing his political aspiration as something bigger than him, Banky W said he got into PDP to make reforms.
