As political parties in Nigeria gear up to battle it out in the general elections come 2023, popular singer, Timi Dakolo, has called for a compulsory debate for all presidential candidates.
This is coming after the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, emerged as the winner of the party’s presidential primary after Atiku emerged PDP’s candidate, and Peter Obi as Labour Party representative.
Dakolo who recently called out All Progressives Congress (APC) organizing committee for using his song, without his permission, has beckoned on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to insist on a presidential debate as he is looking forward to hearing the candidates reel out their plans for Nigerians.
Dakolo also told INEC to disqualify any aspirant who refuses to participate in the debate.
“I can’t wait for the president debate.
This time we must insist on the presidential debate.
Dear
@inecnigeria
, we insist.
If you don’t show up, you should be disqualified.
We can no longer assume you will know what to do . Come and tell us “. He said.
