Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has penned an open letter to upcoming actors who are striving hard to make an impact in the make-believe world.
Edochie who has over the years paid his dues in movie making and script interpretation, encouraged the newbies to be steadfast and consistent, and hopefully their breakthrough will come someday.
He also urged them to study and learn more skills from his likes and other veterans in Nollywood.
He wrote: “Dear upcoming actors and actresses, don’t worry the hustle will pay. The conditions may be harsh in the beginning but it always pays in the end. Love the job. Be very serious with it. Acting is very serious business, it’s not a joke. Anytime you get the opportunity to play a role, just know that you’re telling the story of someone out there. So you have to tell it convincingly. Watch lots of films, foreign and home made. Read lots of books. Study your senior colleagues and learn from them. Get training. Equip yourself with as much knowledge of the craft as possible.
And when the role comes, act like your life depends on it. The breakthrough you seek will surely come.”
Recall that Edochie had said a powerful prayer for parents and children when schools in Lagos State resumed Monday September 5.
The father of five via his social media page prayed for finances for parents as well as divine protection for all the kids who are still in school.
He wrote, “As we enter school fees season, Lord please provide for all parents.May our hustle keep paying. May we never lack the finance & capacity to keep giving our children the best. Lord please protect our kids & give them more wisdom to learn & be greater than their parents. AMEN!”
