Singer Paul of Psquare, also known as Rudeboy, has narrated his ordeal with police officers extorting road users at night in Lagos traffic.
Taking to his Insta-story, the singer had called out policemen after witnessing the cause of traffic about 2 to 3 am he was coming back from the club.
According to him, the policemen had created barricades mostly at club junctions and mostly at places that leads to people’s homes instead of the major roads leading to the third mainland bridge where they are needed.
The reason why they can’t be found in routes leading major roads is that they want to extort money from car owners and their stationed points are the best way to achieve that.
The singer had ignored some of the policemen who had requested money from him as he revealed that they would not get a dime from him.
He wrote:
WENT TO THE CLUB FIRST TIME AFTER 2YRS PLUS…. MEHN… FOR GOD SAKE WHY ARE THEY TRAFFIC AT 2-3AM. BARRICADES EVERYWHERE IN LAGOS ISLAND… POLICE EXTORTION EVERY ANGLE WITH NO SHAME. MOSTLY AT CLUB JUNCTIONS AND PLACES THAT LEADS TO PEOPLE’S HOMES… MEANWHILE YOU CAN’T FIND THEM ON ROADS LEADING TO THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE.
