In a recent development, singer Pryne has called out his senior colleague Wizkid for stating that he is no longer an Afrobeat artist.
In an interview with MTV based, the singer stated that Wizkid saying that he was no longer an Afrobeat artist doesn’t make any single sense.
He also revealed that it was Afrobeat that made Wizkid who he is right now. He stressed on the fact that the Afrobeat genre was so big and that there was nothing Wizkid can do that would affect it. He further stated that instead of Wizkid to affect the Afrobeat stage, the Afrobeat is Wizkid’s career that would get affected.
In his words, he had this to say,
“ Wizkid saying he is no longer an Afrobeat artist makes no single sense. Afrobeat made Wizkid. The Afrobeat genre is so big and there is nothing Wizkid can do that would affect it.
Instead, it’s Wizkid’s career that would get affected. No matter how, no matter if Wizkid sings R&B or Pop or whatever kind of music, he will still always be an Afrobeat artist.”
Now recall that yesterday, Kemi Filani had reported that Daniel Regha had expressed his displeasure over the Wizkid insisting the father of a fan.
He wrote; “Wizkid involving someone’s dad in his clap-back or response is disrespectful; Fans are cheering now but Burna had said the same “That one na ur papa business” he will be labelled rude. The hypocrisy is sickening.”
Also recall that Kemi Filani had reported a few months back that Wizkid had thrown some heavy shade at some mysterious people.
Netizens were left confused on who the clear jab was thrown at. Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote the simple words,
“Una Mama.”
