Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri has appreciated her junior colleague, Regina Daniels, her mother Rita Daniels, the President of AGN, Emeka Rollas, and others for their support for dead colleague, Junior Pope.
Taking to her Instagram page to react to the news of his death, she noted how they were at the hospital at 2/3 A.M. trying to see if anything could be done to save his life. Unfortunately, he gave up the ghost.
Expressing heartbreak over his demise, she stated that producers and filmmakers are all guilty of taking certain risks for their jobs. She noted how getting home at 3 AM is almost a norm in their line of business but she cannot throw stones or can’t question why.
Telling them to use Junior Pope’s death as a call to remind them that passion doesn’t save lives, she prayed for the soul of the departed.
“My heart is broken… as producers, as filmmakers, we all are Guilty of taking certain risks for this job! In fact, getting home at 3 am is almost a norm in this business… I cannot throw stones, I cannot as ask why! This is a call to reminder that passion doesn’t save lives… JP! May God receive your soul! And grant your family the heart to bear the loss!

Kemi Filani reported on Wednesday that Nollywood lost another of its beloved actors, Junior Pope, who had drowned while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat at Anam River in Anambra State. The actor was said to have woken up briefly and was taken to the Water Shrine for some cleansing after which he was taken to the hospital, where he eventually gave up.
Confirming his death, the AGN president expressed sadness over his demise as he noted how their joy was short-lived. He stated that his first post was out of excitement when he noticed his tingling fingers. Unfortunately, two hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail.
Actress, Ini Edo, slammed the poor structure of the industry that has taken a toll on them. She lamented the actor’s death which she called a sacrifice for the realization of the need of the much needed regulation and structure that would safeguard an entire production.
Ini Edo taunted her colleague, Adanma Luke who, was the producer of the movie that took the lives of many as she urged those who aspire to be a producer and are not qualified for the job to stop because they are guilty of negligence.
The mother of one called Junior Pope’s death as one of the sacrifices that must count and urged the system to undergo a total overhaul with rules and regulations that will cater to everyone.
Following his untimely demise, his family members and the community where he died are currently battling for his body. According to reports, some people in the community are insisting that the actor must be buried in the river to avoid repercussions, while another group said the family should take the body to a specific shrine where a certain herbalist in charge of the river will supposedly bring him back to life.
