Reality TV star, Ka3na consoles AKA’s family, slams Nigerians

Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Katrina Jones better known as Ka3na has sent her condolences to the family of South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known as AKA following his death.

Kemi Filani reported on Friday night, 10th February that AKA alongside his friend was shot dead by unknown gunmen.

Taking to her Instagram story, Ka3na said some human hearts must have been made out of bricks to have carried out such a gruesome act. Revealing she lived in South Africa for three years, the mother of one noted the country has truly lost an Icon. She took a swipe at her own country, Nigeria, noting that everyone acts as tho they are celebrities.

Ka3na in her condolence to AKA’s family prayed that they find closure that will help them heal.

She wrote: “Headlines like this freaks me out… some human hearts must be made of bricks to gun down such promising young man! No doubt South Africa has lost an icon. Unlike in Nigeria where everyone is forming celebrity. South Africa only has few iconic names and back in 2016-2019while i lived there, I know how much they love and adore AKA.

“I honestly sympathise with South Africans and his relatives for this untimely loss. I pray you find some closure to help you all heal. RIP AKA”.

After receiving backlash on her condolence mesage to AKA’s family, Ka3na furtehr slammed Nigerians and asked them to face their problems because they loose focus alot.

She wrote: “Which one is bragging agaon, my name does it all. You people should face your problmes in Naija. Ka3na is not the banks neither your presidnet. You people should be busy dragging . Una too dey loose focus!”

AKA shot dead by Unknown Gunmen

Kemi Filani reported that the police in Durban had confirmed rapper Kiernon ‘AKA’ Forbes was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on Florida Road on Friday night.

Another person believed to be AKA’s bodyguard was also wounded, while another unidentified person, who is understood to be a close friend of AKA was also shot dead.

It is understood that AKA was standing outside the Wish Restaurant when he was gunned down in a drive-by shooting.

Two unknown cars are believed to have opened fire on the rapper.

Several police sources confirmed that rapper AKA had been shot dead.

The shooting happened just before 10pm.

AKA’s family releases statement following his death

Following the death of AKA, his family on the 11th of February confirmed his death and appealed for compassion, space and time to congregate as family to decide on the upcoming days.

They also appreciated the public for their love and support.

“It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023. We are awaiting further details from the Durban Police.

To us, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Most importantly father to his beloved daughter, Kaire. To many he was AKA, SUPAMEGA, BHOVA and the many other names of affection his legion of fans called him by. Our son was loved and he gave love in return. In this time of grief we appeal for your compassion, space and time to congregate as family to decide on the upcoming days.

We thank you for the love and support we have received thus far and ask you continue to keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord”.
