“I didn’t go to school but….” Portable jubilates as he receives award for hitting 10 million song streams (Video)

Portable receives award from Boomplay

It is an exciting time for Nigerian street-singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable as he hits 10 million song streams on Boomplay.

The controversial singer shared a video of him with his award as he jubilated over his newest feat.

He noted how a person like him who didn’t go to school, keeps soaring higher in life.

According to him, he got his awards for 10 million song streams from Boomplay.

In the video he posted online, Portable expressed gratitude to Olamide and Poco Lee for featuring in his hit song, ‘Zazuu Zeh’, which shot him into fame.

“Earlier today I got my awards of 10 million song streams from @boomplaymusic @boomplaynigeria streams is about 65 million song streams. Thank you”.

Recall that Portable gained widespread popularity after the release of his song “Zazu Zeh” in December 2021 where he featured rapper, singer, and songwriter, Olamide and dancer, Iwe Pascal better known as Poco Lee.

Things turned sour between him and Poco Lee after he accused the latter of stealing his money and song.

In a series of videos that went viral on social media, Portable called out Poco Lee for stealing the money award-winning singer, Wizkid sprayed on him during his performance with Olamide at Livespot X Festival.

As if this was not enough, Portable also accused Poco Lee who according to reports introduced him to Olamide of stealing his song after it was disclosed that “Zazu Zeh” was released on Poco Lee’s Spotify account.

Despite rising to fame through their help, Portable stated that they shouldn’t be credited for his success.

While opening up on his rise to fame in an interview with Echo Room, the street singer stressed that dancer, Poco Lee, and singer, Olamide didn’t make him famous. According to him, he became famous on his own as he was well-known before they reached out to him.

Opening up on how he linked up with Poco Lee and Olamide, Portable noted how people would locate one when their time for greatness has come. He revealed that they linked up with him through DMS.

Speaking on his rise to fame, Portable reemphasized that no one made him who he is today. However, he gave credit to his fans and God for making him who he is today.

Recounting his struggling days, he stated that when people hailed him for being famous, he always disagreed with them as he didn’t have money, a car, or travel the world.

Portable goes all out to celebrate Olamide Baddo on his birthday

However, that didn’t stop him from constantly celebrating Olamide.

In March, Portable had gone all out to celebrate Olamide Baddo on his birthday.

The singer created a portrait of Olamide and shared it with his followers on Instagram.

He wrote: It’s your special day-get out there and celebrate! Wishing you the biggest slice of happiness today “ Boss of life Baba IKA Eyon IKA 👑 @olamide Street Ti take over 💯💯💯”.
