Olori Memunat Omowumi, one of the wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi is in a grieving state as the Kingdom holds a celebration of life ceremony for the monarch.

Kemi Filani News reported in April that the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, died in April, at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.

The remains of the top Yoruba traditional ruler were brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday and traditional rites began.

He was 83 years old and the longest-reigning Alaafin ever, having ruled for 52 years.

The celebration of life ceremony for the King is still ongoing and Olori Memunat has shared a video from the procession.

Taking to her Instagram page, Olori Memunat mourned him as she bade the Alaafin goodbye.

She wrote, “Rest on Atanda”.

The queen who has stayed off social media since his demise took to her Instagram page to eulogise her late husband.

Kemi Filani news recalls that Olori Memunat showed her love and respect for the King as she marked her birthday in tears.
