Odumeje holds vigil after Ada Jesus’ death…Rita Edochie invites fans
Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has incurred the wrath of her followers on Instagram after sharing a video of controversial Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, inviting people to come to his church for vigil.
This is coming barely 48 hours after news broke that comedian Ada Jesus had died in an Abuja hospital of kidney related ailment.
“Waiting for you at Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry for today’s vigil,” the actress captioned the video showing Odumeje performing his unusual religious service.
In reaction, her followers queried her for being so insensitive.
One Chinenye wrote “Can someone close to this woman please check up on her…??? I think she’s creeping into desperation using all these posts to comfort herself”
One Dozie wrote “Nonsense ingredients, celebrating in the midst of departure, las las we all we die but i thank God Ada made peace with God and people of this evil world before she pass away, all i know is that in every nonsense she said there must be a sense” …… I rest my case”
One Dora wrote “If I were you ma I would be on a solemn mood knowing truly that the girl u had case with had finally gave up the ghost, I didn’t say ur hands are involved in her death but courtesy demands u show remorse if not for yourself but at least for thousands of fans following this page. Kemi Filani recalls that before and Ada Jesus’ death were dominated by reports of how Rita Edochie and Odumeje placed a curse on the deceased.
That followed allegations made by Ada Jesus that Rita connived with Odumeje to perform fake miracles.
Months after making the grave allegations, Ada Jesus was diagnosed with a kidney problem that left parts of her body swollen.
The family of the comedian, who had become paralysed, took her to Odumeje for deliverance but the cleric rejected her.
Instead, he and Rita laid curses on her, accusing her of blackmail and lies.
They both declared that the ailing young woman will die from her illness as a lesson to others.
The backlash that followed the pronouncements forced the man who calls himself Indabosky and the veteran actress to recant and declare that they had forgiven the comedian.
Following Ada Jesus’ death on Wednesday, April 21, many Nigerians called out Odumeje and Rita for their use of heavy words, with many insinuating that the deceased suffered a spiritual attack because of their curses.
