Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has called out a Nigerian Airline for downgrading her on their flight.
The light-skinned actor narrated how terrible experience at the airport where she was not only downgraded but her afternoon flight was shifted to an evening flight, without an apology.
According to her, she booked a Business class flight to Asaba and arrived at the airport 30 minutes before the flight, only for her to be downgraded to Economy class for flimsy reasons. To make it worse, rather than take off at the said time, her flight was delayed for over two hours.
“Air Peace, what’s that thing you guys did to me today? I have always seen people complain about your airline. In fact, I have had my fair share of you people’s wahala but I chose not to talk about it cos I don’t have time. How do I explain that I booked a business class ticket, my flight was supposed to be at 2:15 pm, I got to the airport at 1:30 pm and people know me that I don’t like to miss flights and I don’t do African Time.
How do you downgrade my flight from Business Class to Economy with the explanation that the flight on the ground doesn’t have a Business Class?
I ended up boarding a 2:15 flight at 5:48 pm. Air peace this is 2024, you need to change”.
Over the years, celebrities have become outspoken in calling out Nigerian Airports and airlines over their poor attitude.
Last year, Alex Unusual slammed a popular Airbus for reportedly toying with passengers’ lives, accusing the Airbus of taking off despite a technical issue that later made them turn back to Lagos after flying for almost an hour.
According to Alex, who accused the airline of joking with passengers’ lives, people almost fainted following the turbulence report and to top it up the landing was mentally stressful as it felt like the tires weren’t responding because they kept going up and down, turning round.
She went on to call on the airline to fix their issues.
Also, Popular Nigerian skit maker, Zics Aloma had recounted his bitter experience with an Airport star.
The comedian narrated what transpired between him and an Air Peace official at the airport, who denied him a boarding pass despite his arrival on time before the flight’s boarding.
Zics stated that he and his assistant spent minutes begging the flight attendant to give them their passes since other passengers were yet to be boarded. To make it worse, another client came at the same time, was given a boarding card, and was allowed to enter. He then sought to alter the ticket, but the attendant contacted her supervisor, and the trip cost was increased.
In other news, Nkechi Blessing has more reasons to be grateful as many celebrated the First Sunday of the year, last week.
The mother of one, via her Instagram page, while sharing a photo of her in a bandage, revealed that what took her mother in a flash years back almost happened to her a few days ago. But luckily for her, God said it was not her turn.
She revealed that her birthday this year will be extremely special because God gave her a second chance.
