Sanwo Olu at Headies

Nigerians have expressed anger towards the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu, as he stormed Atalanta in the United States to present Headies awards.

Kemi Filani recalls that singers such as Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy and others shine at the just concluded 2022 Headies Awards.

Rapper Olamide won the Best Rap Album of the Year, Adekunle Gold won the Songwriter of the Year award, while Wizkid won the Album of the Year with his critically acclaimed song, Essence.

A video that emerged online captured the moment Lagos state governor presented an award to Wizkid in an outfit which was out of his norms.

Sanwo Olu was spotted rocking a neck chain while he presented the award to a representative of Wizkid.

Reacting to the video, Nigerians called out Sanwo Olu for neglecting the collapse of numerous infrastructures in his state to attend a musical award in another country.

Sanwo was also called out for his regular absence from official school programmes whenever he was invited.

I tweeted the madness of carrying an African award show to another country outside the continent, I never knew our Lagos state governor will join in the madness. 😂

For what I know, entertainment award presentations are being done by people who are engaged in the entertainment industry not people like Sanwo Onlu. I don’t think he has anything to do with that.
