‘Never marry a woman and move into her house’ Nigerians react after Actress Funke Akindele allegedly asked her husband to ‘Leave her House’
Some Nigerians have reacted to the viral reports about the marriage of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele going through hard times.
Kemi Filani News earlier reported that Instagram blogger Cutie Julls alleged that Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz’s union fought dirty at home, with the wife ordering her husband to leave her house.
The source revealed Funke Akindele had boldly accused her husband JJC Skillz of squandering money which she disagreed with, considering she is the company’s owner.
Meanwhile, JJC Skillz has left his home and rented an apartment somewhere in Lagos and is currently in London to cool down and give his wife Funke Akindele some space to calm down.
This generated a debate online as some netizens averred it is wrong for a man to move into a woman’s house after marriage.

Many men here are house husband’s, doing chores, taking care of kids and rhe woman is the bread winner and they all seem to be doing well. Let people do what is okay for them. It is not written anywhere that it is a woman who must move into a man’s house. If the woman is earning better and has a more comfortable house, are you saying she should abandon it and move into the one that is not comfortable?

In western countries, their culture is different and Nigerians who moved there have to bend backwards to adapt and make ends meet. However, down here in Nigeria, I don’t think we have evolved mentally to the level of a man living in the wife’s house. That sort of arrangement is always likely to cause problems here.

Um, NO. If u move into my house, I’m the head. You don’t get to be head of house just because you have a penise. That’s not how it works. You want to be the leader? Have all the things a leader has to have. I cant believe women are out here playing house like kids with able-bodied men to sooth and stroke the man’s ego. Don’t ever play pretend in something that’s supposed to be taken seriously(marriage) otherwise that marriage is a disaster waiting to happen. If you are a man and you want to be kept, just say that😒.

For your sanity don’t move into your wife’s house with her either before or during marriage. Many women do not have the decorum to remain cool headed when things a aren’t going well. You may be given marching order out of the house in your Christmas clothes.

It’s very wrong for a man to move into d wife’s house after marriage,it’s un African. In African,a man marries,not vice versa n to asserten dat his wife changes her surname to his as well as move into his house n together they make it a home. Anything in d contrary,there is bound to be a problem in future. But it’s a different take in Oyiboland.

In Africa, it is men that marry women. Hence, the responsibility of men to provide accommodation. Assuming that the marriage took place in the village, irrespective of who provided the bride price, where would the couple live?
