Nigerians have stormed the internet to express their displeasure over the action of Yoruba Nollywood actor Murphy Afolabi who was spotted at a Tinubu’s campaign in Lagos.
A photo making waves online captured Murphy Afolabi rocking a vest imprinted with the face of the Lagos state former governor and 2023 presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Famous controversial faceless blogger, Gist Lover, who shared the post online, alleged that the actor was captured sharing ‘peanuts’ to ignorant market women to rally for Tinubu’s presidential ambitions.
“Talo Megun waaa? Murphy oni shey Awon orire, for collecting peanut and marching to the market with Tinuku to deceive thise ignorant market women, ofo loma shey with your cut and join English, Oloshiiiiiiiiiiii Elebiiiiiiii, Omo ofooooooooo. I come in peace”
Following this report, angry Nigerians took to the comment section to rain curses on the actor who has supposedly traded his celebrity status for ‘peanuts’.
sodeindeoluwafemiadedeji: Dis guys are the problems we have in South west. Yeyebrities
_sexyranti: Thank you gistlover one by one they will be disgraced
elleaboki: They are all hungry so any means to get peanuts they’ll ask how high

Kemi Filani recalls that Murphy Afolabi took a swipe at those mocking him for his deeply rooted Yoruba accent.
In an interview with BBC Yoruba, the actor claimed his accent resulted from his origin, and nobody would understand him if he tried to force an accent.
He further disassociates himself with anyone who does not feel comfortable talking to him due to his accent, as that is how he will continue talking till old age.
He said: “There is nothing like someone is making fun of me. Your place of birth is your state. You can’t give birth to someone in Osun state and then you go to Lagos and say you want to have hairs like your father. I was given birth to in Osogbo and everyone knows that in my village, the way we pronounce our ‘S’ is different from the others. if you want to force yourself to speak like a Lagosian, people would hardly hear you. This is the way I’ll talk till I grow old. Whoever doesn’t like it should not play with me.”
