Nigerian music icon 2face, also known as 2Baba, recently faced criticism from Nigerians after he commented on the news of the FBI’s plans to release documents related to President Tinubu.
The singer’s response triggered a strong reaction from netizens who questioned his stance and reminded him of his own marital controversies.
The controversy began when Charly Boy, also known as Area Fada, took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the upcoming FBI release. Charly Boy urged Nigerians and his friends in the US, including the CIA and FBI, to confirm the news, emphasizing that it’s not over until it’s over.
“Abegi, my people for US, my friends for CIA and FBI, fellow frustrated Nigerians, make una help me confirm dis news. know it’s not over till it’s over.
We no dey do sprint na marathon be our tin.”
In response, 2face commented, suggesting that before releasing documents related to President Tinubu, the FBI should also release documents involving various other figures, including former US presidents and international leaders. He implied that Nigeria should handle its issues independently.
“Make dem release bush sr and in and Clintons and trump and Obama and Biden and James bond and apartheid SA government and king leopold of Belgium and France and gbogbo all of those first make we see something.
If not make dem leave to face our own by ourself.”
However, this response didn’t sit well with many Nigerians who criticized 2face and advised him to focus on his marriage. Some users referenced his past allegations of cheating, particularly his wife Annie Idibia’s public accusations. Annie had previously called out 2face for allegedly having relationships with multiple women.
Furthermore, 2face himself has admitted in the past that it’s challenging for one man to remain faithful to one woman. His history made his comments on the FBI’s release of documents a point of contention among social media users.
