Popular DJ, Nonso Temisan Ajufo, aka DJ Big N has lamented about the state of the nation.
The talented disc jockey signed to the Don Jazzy led Mavin Records expressing his thoughts about the state of the nation, wrote on his Instagram page: ”This is not a time to be tribalistic. Forget zoning right now. Who is the right man for the job? Nigeria is in serious trouble. Economically we are almost in flames. Have patience and got through the next slides”.
Kemi Filani News recalls that back in December 2021, Big N had said Nigeria would have been hell on earth without the entertainment industry.
“Take out the entertainment industry in Nigeria. Then and only then, will you understand that Nigeria is hell on earth. People suffering and smiling,” BIG N wrote.
“An industry that has saved many from the streets and given jobs to citizens that the country couldn’t. A country that you have to get over 10 licenses and permits to be a dispatch rider.”
In the caption of the post, Big N added: “Nigeria’s Positive Image abroad is mostly attached to entertainment. God Bless The Nigerian Entertainment Industry.”
Nigeria’s entertainment industry was valued at $3.6 billion in 2016 and was projected to hit $6.4 billion by 2021.
Earlier, the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) described the movie industry as Nigeria’s new oil.
“The industry is no longer for entertainment alone, but it offered great opportunities in creating a lot of jobs for the youths,” it had added.
“We always see new faces every day in the industry. Assuming this industry is not waxing stronger, joblessness would have pervaded everywhere.”
