Self proclaimed queen of Afrotrap, Msjorji slams Tiwa Savage, Tems, Teni for not supporting female Nigerian artists

Msjorji slams Tiwa savage, Tems, Teni

In a recent outburst that has shaken the Nigerian music industry, Independent Jorgi, a rising Afro trap artist, criticized well-known female Nigerian artists, including Tiwa Savage, Tems, and Teni, for their indifference towards promoting fellow female artists.

Jorgi, who is gaining traction in the Afro trap scene, accused these established stars of being self-involved and neglecting opportunities to collaborate with up-and-coming talents, particularly women.

Jorgi’s remarks claims that unlike their male counterparts, these female artists are focused more on their personal success and less on nurturing new talent in the industry. Jorgi however defined true success as helping others grow and foster their careers.

In a related development, Speedy Darlington, had previously echoed similar sentiments. In February 2023, he accused Tems and Teni of lacking originality, alleging that they were imitating the style of Tiwa Savage. Darlington’s observations pointed out a perceived lack of creativity and risk-taking among these artists.

Back in the early months of 2023, Tiwa Savage took to her Instagram to celebrate Tems’ Grammy win. This gesture appeared to contradict the narrative of rivalry and underlines a more complex dynamic within the industry. Savage’s public display of support for Tems indicated a possible sense of unity and mutual respect among these top artists.
