Nigerian television personality and host, Morayo Afolabi Brown has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding popular crossdresser, Bobrisky.
Kemi Filani reported that on Sunday evening, celebrities gathered at Circle Mall, Lekki for the premiere of Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds, a movie produced by Eniola Ajao.
With the several exceptional outfits at the movie premiere, Bobrisky emerged as the Best Dressed Female to the shock of many. The crossdresser was gifted N1 million naira following his win.
Reacting to the backlash over his win, Morayo Brown during the latest episode of Your View, stated that Nigerians have no right to criticize Bobrisky. Giving reasons, she stated that as long as the crossdresser hasn’t broken any law, then he is free.
Morayo further questioned why Nigerians are offended because of him as she noted how the crossdresser has gone under the knife to change his gender.
“Bobrisky is a good example of the Nigeria factor. On one hand, Nigerians are saying we are against this and it’s 14 years if you are caught trying to be with the same sex, (there is no law against crossdressing), and on the other hand we scratch around it.
When she goes for a competition, why are we feeling offended because has changed her private parts and is a woman? This is my own stance, as long as she hasn’t broken any law, or has been arrested for anything then we have no right to criticize Shim for winning a competition that Shim offered herself to”.
Recall that many celebrities had spoken out on Bobrisky’s win. Actress, Toyin Abraham was captured expressing disbelief that the crossdresser beat all female celebrities and guests to emerge the winner. She could be heard in a viral clip questioning if the organizers were mad to have crowned him the winner.
Dayo expressed her displeasure at the disrespect melted on the female gender present at the premiere. The actress called the judges and the organizers bluff stating they were wrong and not ok to have named a crossdresser the best dressed female. She claimed they should have created another category created to appreciate crossdressers.
Singer, Portable had taken to Bobrisky’s comment section to warn him against saying he belonged to the sisterhood, and he even threatened to call the police on him. Reacting, Bobrisky called him a dirty boy and blocked him on Instagram.
Early this month, Bobrisky had sent a message to Nigerians as he finally acquired a vagina. The crossdresser, in a post on his Instagram page, told Nigerians to start addressing him as a woman as he has finally gotten a vagina.
Some weeks back, Bobrisky had slammed those questioning him over his gender, telling them to stop looking at his manhood, wondering if he had cut them, as he explained that being a woman is beyond what it is between one’s leg.
He noted how people both offline and online always question if he has done surgery on his manhood which he admitted always bothered him but after many years, he developed a thick skin and doesn’t care. He added that he had chosen his truth and if anyone doesn’t like it, then they should suck it.
