Nigerian rapper and record producer, Jude Lemfani Abaga better known as M.I Abaga has lamented over the hate in the hip-hop industry.
The rapper claimed that the Afrobeats industry has no respect for Hip-hop artitses.
He vented out his frustration over how he was declined the opportunity to meet with American rapper, Rick Ross one-on-one.
Taking to his Twitter account, he stated that he was invited to meet Rick Ross but when he asked to have a private meeting with him, his request was declined.
He however stated that he wasn’t surprised with their action as he would continue to make great music for the ones who truly care.
In a follow up tweet, he recounted how he met Jay Z, Rihanna and Usher in 2008 at his first gig and was treated poorly.
He disclosed that the treatment he received on that day taught him a valuable lesson.
He added that no one would respect you until you respect yourself.
“My first gig ever was in 2008 with Jay Z and Rihanna and Usher…how I was treated that day taught me a valuable lesson….them no go respect us..until we respect ourselves”.
“Lastly…. I was invited to meet Rick Ross.. I responded by saying if I could donut one one one. Ofcourse they declined…the afrobeats industry will not respect Hip-hop just because…that’s fine. Let’s accept it as what it is and make GREAT MUSIC FOR THE ONES who do care”.

The rapper returned to Nigeria after his first trip in 2012 for two reasons; to hold his show tagged ‘Rick Ross Live in Lagos’ and his Private meet and greet for Bellaire.
