    “A Mile2 born Nnsukka girl made it” Mary Njoku tears up as she makes Forbes Women List 2023

    Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku is quite ecstatic after being recognized by prestigious American magazine, Forbes.

    Kemi Filani reports that Forbes released it’s yearly list of 50 most influential women in Africa.

    The list compromises of women from different sector and industry. From the world of business, to media, health, politics and more.

    Gracing the magazine this year are Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chimamanda Adichie, Mo Abudu, Chioma Ude, Bolanle Austen Peters, Mary Remmy Njoku and more.

    Mary Njoku, who couldn’t believe she made it to the prestigious magazine, took to her Instagram page to express gratitude to her husband.

    An excited Mary noted how she was only a Mile2 born Nnsukka girl before becoming a power figure.

    Mary Njoku appreciated her husband, who she described as her ‘Halo’.

    “A Mile2 born Nsukka girl made it to @forbesafrique. It was just a dream…

    Thanks @jasonnjoku you are my Halo”. She wrote.

    Forbes names Mo Abudu amongst the most powerful women in the world

    In similar news, last year, Nigerian media mogul, Mosunmola Abudu, better known as Mo Abudu had been named the 99th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes.

    Abudu,then 58, who is the founder of EbonyLife Group was named among other 100 very influential and powerful women in the world by the financial magazine.

    According to Forbes, she was recognised for her outstanding contribution to the media and entertainment sectors. Her partnership deals with Sony Pictures Television, AMC Networks, and Netflix were some of the reasons she made the list.

    The deal with Netflix marked the first time an African media company signed a multi-title film and TV agreement with the streaming giant.

    Also, Funke Akindele had been listed on Forbes ‘100 Icons from Africa and in reaction, she announced that her time is here.

    She was listed alongside Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Omotola Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Mr Eazi, and the Director General of the World Trade Organization, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala..
