The young lady who was slapped several times in the trending video from Lead British School Abuja has come out to share her side of the story.
In the video, Namtira said that she was cornered by her colleagues around a shop at first, and Maryam started slapping her until a teacher intercepted.
After that, she was cornered into the school’s cafeteria, where Maryam continued slapping her while others watched.
Namtira and Maryam’s story has caused a huge stir on social media, with a lot of people calling for Maryam’s expulsion, alongside the other students that were watching.
Social activist Very Dark Man made a statement, saying that all the students in the video should be blogged.
He also drew attention to the fact that the issue may have stemmed from boy problems. He also shared that he was certain that the children in the video had p**n videos in their phones.
Comedian Bovi also gave his input on the whole saga, commending Namtira for being well behaved. This statement was probably culled from the fact that while she was being continiously slapped, Namtira remained unbelievably calm.
After the video made rounds on the internet, Maryam who was the assailant came out to make a public apology about the whole situation.
A Nigerian writer came out to say that it wasn’t right that the identities of the girls are being exposed online. This statement was made, despite the fact that the video that revealed that Namtira was being bullied by Maryam clearly showed their faces.
Lead British School has been temporarily closed for further investigation into the case by the Minister of Women Affairs. It was a swift response by the government, following the huge rave the vdeo caused on social media.
This incident isn’t the first bullying case that has occured in secondary schools in Nigeria, as there have been several cases. Please note that this blog doesn’t support bullying in any form.
