Joseph Ameh, the ex-husband of the dancer, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau popularly known as Kaffy, has broken his silence on the dancer’s bombshell interview where she accused him of infidelity.
Kemi Filani news recalls Kaffy, had shed more light on her crashed marriage to her younger husband and drummer boy, Papi J Ameh.
In January 2022, the 42-year-old popular Nigerian dancer, Kaffy, made an announcement on Instagram, giving reasons why her union with Joseph Ameh, a music director and drummer, is over. The pair got married on June 2, 2012, and have two children together.
“I have always wanted to see my ex be the best version of himself and even breaking up the marriage was also to see that we both grew into what we really are supposed to be. Marriage is supposed to be an alignment of destinies driving towards a place that God wants us to be and mine really did not work out that way.
“Rather than looking at somebody as a problem, you could be the problem of that person. Being an enabler of someone not being able to do what they are supposed to do can also be that you are not supposed to be in that space.
“So, there was a lot to learn and there is still a lot more to learn. I want to express that and motivate you to understand that life is not all about reaction to the world; it is not about reacting to what want you to say or what the world wants to hear; what the world wants you to be or what the world wants you to wear; what the world wants you to look like or get married.”
Shedding more light on it in a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Kaffy revealed that her husband slept with some of her close pals.
“If I had known I won’t have jumped into that fire, I thought he was just sleeping with strangers but I found out he was sleeping with my best friends, people I knew…I was thinking at the beginning that I had found someone to completely make me happy but that was selfish thinking, no human being should be your source of happiness.
When you see him, you will think he can’t even hurt a fly cos he is always calm, and he has now made me afraid of calm people cos hmm, inside he is. I held him in high regard until I had to ask him why he was treating me the way he was. I asked him, what do you have against me, that is making you sleep around and with my best friends.”
Speaking about how she moved on, Kaffy said “I stopped sleeping with him because he was dishonest with me and it was when I stopped sleeping with him, that the greatest level of healing started.
Reacting to it, Joseph denied sleeping with the dancer’s friends.
According to him, he made a lot of silly mistakes and he takes full responsibility for his foolishness with absolutely no excuses.
However, he never slept with her best friend or close pals neither have he been violent towards her, contrary to her narratives.
“I will make this as brief as possible. I made a lot of silly mistakes in my life and in my marriage, I take full responsibility of all my foolishness with absolutely no excuses. However, I never slept with your best friend or close pals-neither have I ever been violent towards you, contrary to the narratives flying around about me. Anyway, it has been a year since the marriage officially ended. I’ve tried to move on and o do advise you do the same too. I wish all the very best to both of us as we move on maturely. The end of our marriage should not be the end of our lives. That is the first and last time I will speak on this subject”.
