A video which has surfaced online, showing Actress Iyabo Ojo as she arrived court today, October 20, 2021 for the continuation of Baba Ijesha’s alleged sexual assault trial has earned her knocks from online users.
Actress Iyabo Ojo; popular comedienne, Adekola Adekanya, known as Princess; as well as other supporters and interested persons arrived at the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja as the child molestation case involving embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, resumed today.
Reacting to her arrival at the court, one fan, Kim Kinda wrote “This woman never still rest. She carry another person problem for head like this nawa o”
One Psalms wrote “Y dem put the case for a day like this wey we dey mourn our fallen heroes ..this govt like to dey distract us o…..more so,we no talk say iyabo isn’t doing the right thing but y women dey always support just females like them…y no female celebrity come out to attack chidinma wey kill man…abi no be molestation and killing be that?abeg today na for Endsars o….make them continue tommorow…we don tire for the matter sef…na tonto matter dey reign abeg”
Kemi Filani recalls that the court granted Baba Ijesha bail on June 24, 2021.
The actor, who is being tried by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo over charges bordering on rape, sexual assault and abuse of a minor, was granted bail on the ground that it was his fundamental human rights.
The actor was charged on six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault, which contravene sections 259, 135, and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, as well as 135, 263, and 262 Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Baba Ijesha has been in the eye of the storm since April 22, 2021, when the Lagos State Police Command announced his arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of Princess.
Dada Awosika, SAN; Babatunde Ogala, SAN; and 17 other lawyers had represented Baba Ijesha in court at the last sitting.
