Netizens have reacted to the news of eighteen-year-old Jaylen Smith becoming the youngest black mayor in the United States of America.

Smith defeated his opponent, Nemi Matthews Sr. with a total vote of 218 against 139 in a runoff election to emerge the mayor of Earle, Arkansas.

Taking to Facebook, Smith announced his victory and appreciated those who believed in him with their votes.

He wrote: Citizens of Earle, Arkansas, it’s official!! I am your newly elected Mayor of Earle, Arkansas…  ‘It’s Time to Build a Better Chapter of Earle, Arkansas.’ I would like to thank all my supporters for stepping up getting people to the polls. I am truly grateful for you all.”

Nigerians react to Jaylen Smith’s victory

Nigerians have reacted to the news of Jaylen Smith winning the Mayoral seat in the city of Earle in Arkansas. In a country run by corrupt and political thus, Netizens noted that it is extremely difficult for a promising young man to win an election when old men refuse to take a sit.
