“Why I regret getting married” Ini Edo opens up on her failed marriage and surrogacy (Video)
Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has opened up on her failed marriage and why she went through surrogacy.
Recall that Ini Edo got married to Edo businessman, Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the marriage hit the rock in 2014.
In an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, the mother of one revealed that she regretted getting married because it wasn’t the right move to make.
Despite her failed marriage, Ini Edo is still hoping to get married again whenever she meets the right person.
On why she chose surrogacy, Ini Edo stated that she had several miscarriages which made her give up on having her child herself.
Since she didn’t have a husband, she decided on surrogacy since she was in dire need of a child.
“I chose surrogacy because I had a couple of miscarriages and I got tired of trying and I didn’t want to try. Since I don’t have a husband, I wanted a child for myself, so the eggw as mine”.
On if she regrets her marriage, she said, “Yes, I regret it because it wasn’t the right move to make.
I will get married again if the right person comes at my own time”.
Ini Edo reveals how she welcomed her daughter via surrogacy
Recall that in 2021, Ini Edo opened up about having a baby through surrogacy and how beautiful it feels to be a mother.
In an interview with Stella Dimoko Korkus, Ini Edo confirmed the news of her baby, stating the eggs belongs to her; hence genetically, the baby is her blood.
However, Ini Edo failed to disclose the sperm donor stating that her baby’s peace of mind is paramount to her, and it is an incredible feeling being a mother.
Speaking on motherhood, she described it as an awesome feeling.
“It is an awesome feeling and experience and as I watch my daughter grow every day, I am in awe of the miracles that God has sent my way and I am so thankful and grateful to be my daughter’s mother”.

The actress’s daughter recently turned 2 weeks back and Ini Edo had penned a touching note to her.
Ini recounted how God blessed her with the greatest gift and her biggest heart desire.
She described her daughter as a shining light, the most precious and adorable little girl.
Ini Edo revealed that she never knew how much her life would change and how much comfort and joy a human could bring.
Affirming her love for her daughter, Ini Edo praised her for being the light of her life.
