IIlebaye emerged as the crowned winner of Big Brother Naija All Stars, but her victory hasn’t come without its share of controversy and dissenting opinions. Ex Ultimate Love season 1 housemates had a few things to get off his chest following her win.
Recall that The top six contenders, including Mercy, Ilebaye, Cross, Pere, Adekunle, and Cee C, battled fiercely for the ultimate title, and in the end, it was Ilebaye who held the coveted crown. Reality Star Kachi Ucheagwu has however come out to hint at the fact that it was an underserving sin.
From the very beginning of the Big Brother Naija All Stars season, it was clear that the competition would be fierce. Ilebaye’s journey through the All Stars edition was marked by controversy.
Her behavior and reactions within the house divided viewers into two camps. On one hand, there were those who believed she was playing the victim card, often shedding tears during confrontations with fellow housemates. On the other hand, some viewers sympathized with her, believing she was the target of bullying within the house.
One outspoken critic of Ilebaye’s win is Kachi Ucheagwu, a prominent Reality Star and a staunch supporter of Cee C. Kachi has not minced his words when it comes to his opinion on Ilebaye’s victory. He firmly believes that she did not deserve the win and has openly shared his perspective.
In his critique, he expresses that Ilebaye’s win may be a reflection of the issue in Nigeria, where pity and sympathy sometimes wins over meritocracy.
Kachi also raises the question of whether Ilebaye possessed the qualities and reasoning to hold the winning position. A winner is often expected to represent the best qualities of the show, and he hinted at the fact that he answer when asked about her brand did not suit the quality of winner.
This is what he had to say,
“As Nigeria celebrates her Independence, The winner of #BBNaijaAlIStar may be a true reflection of the current state of Nigeria where Pity and Sympathy prevail against meritocracy
Is she deserving of it, only time will tell”
“Ebuka: what’s next for you after the show? llebaye: Build my empire Ebuka: what’s the empire?
Ilebaye: *screams* “GenZ baddie”
A deserving winner indeed”
He also spoke out on how Cee C might be feeling after not emerging as the winner.
