Nollywood actress and movie producer, Funke Akindele, who is contesting for the deputy governorship candidate of Lagos State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed her confidence in winning the election.
The actress boldly stated that she has what it takes to secure victory for her party.
Speaking on Thursday during an interview with Channels Television, Funke Akindele expressed confidence in her over 15 million fans on Instagram voting for her.
She added that aside from her fans on social media, she has supporters at the grassroots level.
“I have these fans and followers. I feel their pains. I hear people nag. I watch TV; I feel their pain. I’m going out there to proffer solutions,” she said.
“I’m going there for my fans, my followers, for Lagosians. It’s time for a change, for change for the youth, for women.
“Over seven years, Dr. Abdul-Azeez has been building this structure. He knows them; he knows what they need.
“I have the numbers. I have fans and followers. I’m true to myself. I have over 19 to 20 million fans on social media. There are a lot of people in the grassroots. Outside of Ikorodu, I have fans at the grassroots level everywhere.”

Funke Akindele captured the massive crowd of Lagosians who stormed Ikorodu to watch her been unveiled officially by the party.
The delighted crowd stormed the streets to show their support for Funke Akindele and Olajide Jandor ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Funke Akindele, happy about the turn-up, wrote on Instagram: We were welcomed with warmth and joy in Ikorodu, my father-land as Dr Azeez Olajide Adediran #Jandor officially unveiled me as the PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate of Lagos State”.
