After being shunned and not supported by her colleagues in the movie industry, actress, movie producer cum politician, Funke Akindele has now made a public appeal ahead of the upcoming general elections this weekend all over Nigeria.
Kemi FIlani recalls that since her emergence as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Funke Akindele’s colleagues including best friend, Eniola Badmus have been politically divided over their support for preferred presidential and governorship candidates.
Although Eniola Badmus congratulated Funke on her appointment, the duo has kept their distance from each other on social media, especially on posts about supporting their candidates.
Funke Akindele has now shared a video on Instagram, educating her fans on how to vote for her party at the coming election.
The box office queen detailed the right way and approach to make a valid vote for her party.
“The general elections are finally here!!
Yes, we’ve all been sensitized on how important it is for us to vote wisely at a time like this, however, it is also imperative that we all are properly educated on how to make our votes count without errors.
Your votes in the coming election will determine the future of our great country, Nigeria. So let’s make it count!
We must choose wisely this time.
We must choose a good leader who is accountable and people-oriented.
The time has finally come!
We pray for a free and fair election from the 25th of February.
Amen!
Be wise!
Be educated!
Vote PDP!
VOTE WISELY!” Funke Akindele appealed.
Drama as Eniola Badmus and other movie stars shun Funke Akindele
Since Funke Akindele emerged as the running mate to Jandor, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, many of her colleagues in the movie industry have distanced themselves from her political ambition.
A check by Kemi Filani found that none of her colleagues, not even her off-and-on bosom friend, Eniola Badmus has posted Funke Akindele’s political ambition on their Instagram pages, nor campaigned for her.
Leaving Funke Akindele to stand alone in her campaigns without any help from the entertainment industry, the majority of them chose to pitch their tents with the ruling party in Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC).
