The latest episode in the feud between Brymo and Burna Boy has seen artist, Brymo respond with an insulting remark, calling his fellow artist as “one foolish boy.”
The social media exchange has ignited fresh controversy in the industry, with Brymo not mincing words when it comes to expressing his views on Burna Boy’s talent.
This exchange unfolded mere hours after Burna Boy directed a lyrical jab at Brymo during a live performance at an event. In the midst of his freestyle song, Burna Boy sang, “Hustle, make you no go fall off like Brymo,” a line that carried a pointed message at Brymo.
Brymo had hit back, calling him foolish and also revealing that his lyrics are talentless.
The feud between Brymo and Burna Boy dates back to an September, when Brymo publicly criticized Burna Boy. Brymo labeled Burna Boy as “very fake” and “very unoriginal.”
Brymo didn’t stop there; he even questioned Burna Boy’s much-celebrated Grammy win, alleging that every single one of Burna Boy’s songs amounted to little more than samples or stolen slogans.
Furthermore, Brymo accused Burna Boy of committing intellectual property theft, going so far as to suggest that such actions should warrant criminal charges and subsequent imprisonment. It was this volley of serious allegations that ultimately pushed Burna Boy to respond in kind.
However, this is not the first time Burna Boy has faced criticism and backlash. Back in September, fans were displeased with his silence during an election tribunal. Given that his music often touches on political and economic issues in the country, many were surprised by his lack of vocal engagement during this crucial period.
