Abimbola Rosemary “Bimbo” Odukoya a Nigerian pastor and televangelist who was married to the founder of the Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya but sadly lost her life after Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145, bound for Port Harcourt from Abuja on the 10th of December 2005 crashed.
Today, Sunday, September 12, her son, Jimmy Odukoya is celebrating her posthumous birthday, revealing that although it has been over a decade she passed on, he still feels a never ending ache in his heart.
He posted his mother’s image on Instagram and wrote, “Here I go again, trying to describe how I feel. Feeling this never-ending ache in my chest. To paint this intimate piece,To bring you back to life. Your rings dangle against my chest, reminding me that you are gone. But even now, they still glow with the grace of the fingers that once wore them. I pick up my brush, and I splash passion against my canvas of life. Yes, even now the vibrant warmth of your smile emanates against my hand. Then I add the love you always had for me, faithful even to your last breath. I outline your silhouette with your service to God because HE was always first in your life. As I continue to mix my elements, my tears fall into my palette as I realize that every joyous moment in my life will forever be bitter- sweet because you are not here. I brace myself and I continue to paint. I add some hues of brown to represent your sacrifice;
You were strong, caring, always giving of your life and time. Then I remember the soothing and calming effect of your voice and then I splash some trust.
Ah my picture is coming together; I begin to see your face. I step back and one word comes to mind; Beautiful! You were so beautiful. I draw in your eyes,
There. It’s Complete. I see the very essence of my being in your eyes.
As I delicately complete the last brush stroke to your face, I sign my piece with this word; Irreplaceable.
Happy Birthday Mum!! Miss you.”
