Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has recounted a scary experience he and his wife had during his kidney transplant.

In an interview with TVC ‘E Splash’, the rapper revealed how he and his wife almost had an issue after almost 14 successful tests.

According to him, in the last test, the doctors discovered that there was something wrong with his wife, which could deter her from donating her kidney to her husband.

The rapper admitted that it was a scary one for him, as he felt weakened and saddened by the news. This was because he could only get a donor from his family member, as the hospital can’t source for donors.

    He said,

“I was told I had Stage 4 kidney problem and the doctor said the best thing was for me to do a kidney transplant.

I asked him if it’s possible for the hospital to give me donors and he said I had to source for donor and it has to be my family. My wife who was with me asked if she can he a donor for me. I was shocked because we never discussed this.

She did the first/second test and she was compatible. We had 15 more test and it was all successful.

There was this last one on my dailysis bed, doctor said he saw something in her that might make me look for another donor. I was so sad and started praying. But after conducting tests and taking it to a professor, she was considered fit for the transplant”.

Following the success of the transplant, Eedris Abdulkareem’s management had taken to Instagram to pen an appreciation post to Nigerians.

“It is with unspeakable joy and undiluted Thanksgiving that the management of Lakreem Entertainment officially releases the news of the successful kidney transplant surgery on Nigerian Hip Hop Czar and activist Eedris Abdulkareem, and his most gracious donor – his lovingly dedicated wife YT”.
