Gospel minister Dunsin Oyekan is set to give marriage another shot 5 years after losing his wife.
According to information reaching Kemi FIlani, the gospel singer got engaged to a quiet lady who’s not in the limelight last year, and all things being equal, they will walk down the aisle before the end of this year, 2024.
“He has taken her to meet some of his spiritual fathers and mothers in the lord”, broadcast journalist Lara Wise also affirmed in a recent post while shutting down the idea of a relationship between Dunsin Oyekan and fellow gospel minister Victoria Orenze, on a public platform.
A popular gist platform, Rant HQ, had put up a wishful post that comprised of a photo of Dunsin Oyekan and Victoria Orenze with the caption “What if…..” ….an act that led several netizens to jump to conclusions that the gospel singers were in a relationship until Lara Wise debunked the claims.
“As far as I know, Dunsin is engaged; she is a very quiet lady who is not in the limelight. That was last year. He’s taken her to meet some of his spiritual fathers and mothers in the lord,” Lara Wise said.
As preparations for the wedding hit top gear, Dunsin Oyekan will be joining the league of gospel singers such as Moses Bliss and Theophilus Sunday, who got married in 2024.
Kemi Filani recalls that Dunsin Oyekan lost his wife, Doyin, in 2019 to an undisclosed incident, and the couple had 2 kids before Doyin’s demise.
In 2021, during a recent worship session at a church, he was invited to minister, Dunsin Oyekan sang one of the songs “I’ll be here” from one of his albums and mentioned that the song came as a special word to him when he lost his wife in 2019.
…this song came in pain. I lost my wife almost 2 years ago in the middle of tears, in the middle of pain. The only person I could run to was God, and I said to the Lord on one of those days, “I will be here lifting hands even when it doesn’t seem easy”.
And the Lord told me that if you focus on the pain of transition, you will miss its purpose. So this is my testimony, in pain, I see purpose, in grief I find grace. What shall separate us from the love of God?’
