Reality TV star Doyinsola David, popularly known as Doyin, recently took to Snapchat to express her frustration with the quality of men she encounters.
She lamented the shift in traditional gender roles, particularly the expectation of splitting bills in relationships. In her candid outburst, she questioned how men can claim to be providers while simultaneously advocating for a 50-50 approach to expenses.
Doyin also humorously criticized the idea of men wanting equality in financial responsibilities while still aspiring to be the “man” in the relationship. She playfully suggested that if a man expects her to split bills on the first date, he might as well ask her to fuel his car or contribute to his tea fare. The tone of her message carried a blend of sarcasm and exasperation, highlighting her disbelief in the evolving dynamics of modern relationships.
The reality TV star, known for her outspoken nature, isn’t a stranger to controversy. During her stint in the Big Brother house, she openly expressed moments of sadness and loneliness, even contemplating a voluntary exit. White Money, a fellow contestant, provided emotional support, advising her not to make hasty decisions she might regret later.
Doyin’s time in the house was marked by calling out fellow contestants, such as Mercy Eke, whom she accused of being sneaky and two-faced. In the diary room confessions, she labeled Mercy as a pretender, unmasking what she believed to be a mean-spirited nature beneath a sweet facade.
In a surprising turn, Doyin, who had formed a close bond with Ilebaye, the ultimate winner of Big Brother Nigeria, later revealed Ilebaye’s strategic gameplay. Doyin exposed Ilebaye for playing the victim card, manipulating emotions to garner favor with both housemates and viewers. This revelation added a layer of complexity to the dynamics within the Big Brother house.
