Just days after Sweedish DJ Avicii was nominated for a Billboard Music Award for top dance/electronic album, he has been found dead in Oman.
His representative announced the dead of the 28 year old well celebrated Disc Jockey, in a statement which read:
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.
“He was found dead in Muscat, Oman, this Friday afternoon local time, April 20.
“The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
As at the time of this report, the cause of death was unknown however, sources mention that DJ Avicii had suffered acute pancreatitis, as a result of excessive drinking.
It may be recalled that he had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, and cancelled a series of shows in attempt to recover.
Dj Avicii would be greatly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and fans. Up until his death, he won two MTV Music Awards, one Billboard Music Award and earned two Grammy nominations
May his soul rest in perfect peace
