Afrobeat singer, Davido has slammed a Nigerian man who critized him for aborting his plans to help a physically challenged hawker, who has been exposed to be a man disguising himself as a female.
Kemi Filani reported hours ago that the philanthropist had withdrawn his support from a physically challenged pure water seller, who went viral days back.
Davido, who had picked interest in her and had called on his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State to come to her aide, had made a u-turn after discovering she is a man.
Taking to his Twitter page, he told his uncle that they had been scammed and should withdraw support from him.
His tweet didn’t sit well with many as they noted how favoritism with the opposite gender is the reason why the hawker pretended to be a female.
A Twitter user noted how his identity doesn’t change the fact that he needs help, especially since he hails from the singer’s state, Osun.
“Na man, does that change anything tho? He is from Osun, he is challenged and disabled, and he needs all the help he can get. He deserves a good life too! He needs help!! Unless you and your uncle are clout chasers!! The boy needs help!!”.
Replying him, Davido advised him to help the boy since his surname is also ‘Adeleke’.
“U get money na. Sir, ur last name nah Adeleke. Go help am”.
Recall that Comedian Brain Jotter, who made the boy go viral had lamented after discovering his scam.
The comedian had some days back, shared a video on his social media page, revealing that he spotted a handicapped lady, Eniola hawking pure water in the traffic and was moved to help her.
Unfortunately, the physically challenged has been deceiving the public about his identity, as an anonymous blog, Gistlover exposed him.
Reacting to it, Jotter confirmed his identity as he revealed that someone had helped the hawker before with N600,000.
Surprisingly, some netizens defended the hawker noting how women are more favored.
Davido has over the years become well-known for his generosity towards humanity.
Early this year, Davido had bragged about spending over two hundred million naira on orphanages across Nigeria, as he noted how he uses his platform to serve others.
The singer noted that his foundation, David Adeleke Foundation, had disbursed two hundred and thirty-seven million naira (237, 000,000) to benefit the less privileged.
Last year, Davido gave out a scholarship to a Ghanaian college dropout, who scored A parallel in his WAEC.
The young lad identified as Young Morro Suleyman had made A1 in all his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exam subjects but unfortunately, he couldn’t proceed to University as he had been at home since 2021.
Reacting to the news, Davido launched a search for him, and when he found him, he gifted him a full 4/5 scholarship to Adeleke University, with accommodation and allowance.
