Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has disclosed that Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote buys two cars every eight years.
The superstar singer made this known in a recent interview with Forbes.
He spoke about his family’s relationship with Dangote, adding that his billionaire father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, is friends with the world’s richest black person.
Davido made a shocking revelation about the billionaire as he revealed that Dangote only buys two cars in 8years.
He further revealed that Dangote always advised him to save his money every time they meet.
Davido said, “Uncle Aliko [Dangote] is a very different kind of billionaire. Uncle Aliko buys two cars every eight years. He’s a very disciplined and very different kind of billionaire.
“Every time I see him, he just says one thing, ‘Save your money!’. There’s nothing more he tells me, every time save your money. He and my dad have been very close friends.
“And he [Dangote] has done well for us [Nigerians] back home. He made us a lot of industries. He just opened the biggest factory in Africa. That’s providing jobs.”
This isn’t the first time Davido has made such a revelation about the billionaire.

In 2021, Davido had averred that Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa hasn’t bought a car in the last ten years.
Speaking in a chat with Earn Your Leisure podcast, the ‘Jowo’ crooner said: “The crazy thing is just how normal they have lived their lives. I don’t think Dangote has bought a new car in the last ten years”.
On the financial advice Dangote has ever given him, Davido said: “Anytime I see Uncle Aliko, he tells me David save your money”.
The philanthropic artiste also stated that Dangote drove him from the hospital when he was born.
“Dangote drove me home from the hospital when I was born”, he revealed.
Asked how he is empowering younger artists, the DMW boss said: “It’s all love, shout out to this new generation, I hope they don’t make the mistakes that we made. I wasn’t welcomed when I came into the industry based on my background. I had to show them that I am good at this. I have a lot of friends in the industry and I feel like, unity will make us stronger. Shout out to these new artists, they are going crazy. They are innovative. They are very smart young bright artists coming out of this country. All of them come here, we hang out. I tell them my two cents”.
