Daddy Freeze demands Brymo apologises to igbos

Media personality, Daddy Freeze has condemned embattled singer, Brymo for his Anti-Igbo speech.

Weighing into it, Daddy Freeze, who still has love and respect for him as many cut ties with the singer, had offered him an advice.

Daddy Freeze stressed that he has respect for Brymo and as such, doesn’t want him to throw his respect down the drain. Though, he admitted that the singer has a right to his opinion, however, his statement wasn’t an opinion but hate speech. Daddy Freeze reminded him that he can lose his fans and followers as a result of his statement.

The controversial media personality urged the singer to tender an unreserved apology to the ethic group as his words were hurtful and spew hate.

“Dear Brymo, I respect you. Don’t throw that respect down the drain. I know you have the right to an opinion. However, this isn’t an opinion, this is ‘H8’ speech and will cost you your fans and followers. I would recommend an apology to the igbos”.

Over 3,000 Nigerians sign petition against Brymo’s AFRIMA win

This is coming after Kemi Filani reported that a petition had been launched against Brymo, over his comments about Igbos on his Twitter page.

The singer had been under fire for stating that an Igbo presidency would only be a “pipe dream” due to the agitation for Biafra.

Following criticisms from fellow celebrities and fans, Brymo maintained his stand, adding that he was not sorry over his comments which were tagged “anti-Igbo”.

In November 2022, the All Africa Music Award nominated Brymo in the ‘Song Writer of the Year’ category alongside singers from other African countries.

As voting for the category is ongoing, some Nigerians has signed a petition to stop the singer from winning the award.

Citing his “hateful messages” against the Igbos, the petition noted that not winning the award would send a strong message to the singer.

The petition, initiated by one Charles Ogundele read, “Brymo recently put up a series of hateful messages on Twitter toward the Igbo tribe of Nigeria, going as far as retweeting a tweet which said that all Igbos are senseless.

“In one of his tweets, he wrote ‘fck omo Igbo’, which translates to ‘fck the Igbo people.’

So far, the petition had over 3000 signatures.
